BTS member V has revealed that he has been experiencing hearing difficulties.
V and fellow BTS member Jungkook held a live broadcast on Weverse on the afternoon of August 12th, where they updated fans and shared personal stories.
During the livestream, V told fans, “I haven’t told ARMY this before, but it’s been about two and a half years. My hearing has gotten worse.”
Jungkook mentioned that V had recently visited a hospital, and V explained that there is a noticeable difference between his two ears. “If this ear can hear 100%, this one can only hear about 30%,” he shared.
After Jungkook expressed concern and encouraged him to take care of his health, V said, “That’s why I’ve been consistently taking medication.”
V also revealed that his hearing became worse while he was serving in the military. “After it got worse during my military service, some of the members I exercised with told me, ‘It’s all about your mindset.’ I started convincing myself that it was something I could overcome through willpower,” he explained.
When Jungkook continued to show concern, V reassured fans that he is receiving regular medical care, saying, “I’m going to the hospital regularly.”
V enlisted in December 2023 and completed his mandatory military service in June 2025 as a member of the Special Duty Team under the 2nd Infantry Division’s Military Police Corps.
Following his discharge, V resumed activities with BTS’s fifth studio album ARIRANG, which was released in March, and is currently participating in the group’s ARIRANG world tour. He is currently staying in the United States.
