Speculation has surfaced that late actress Kim Sae Ron was in a relationship with singer WOODZ, and the singer’s agency has issued an official statement regarding the rumors.
On April 11th, Lee Jin Ho claimed on his YouTube channel that Kim Sae Ron dated an anonymous singer from early 2021 until May 2022. During that time, she reportedly sent a coffee truck to the filming site of the singer’s music video and frequently liked his social media posts. It was also said that she didn’t hide the relationship from those around her.
After breaking up with the singer, Kim Sae Ron is said to have struggled emotionally. Some speculate that this heartbreak contributed to the drunk driving accident she caused on May 18th, 2022. She had canceled a dubbing session for Netflix’s Bloodhounds the day before the incident. Reports indicate that she began drinking early the next morning and, while intoxicated, drove and crashed into a transformer.

Netizens have speculated that the singer in question is WOODZ. In response, WOODZ’s agency, EDAM Entertainment, stated that it is “difficult to confirm” anything related to his personal life. On April 12th, the agency said, “We ask for your understanding, as this is a private matter related to the artist’s personal life, so we are unable to confirm anything.” This serves as their official response to the rumors circulating on YouTube channels and online communities about his alleged relationship with Kim Sae Ron.
WOODZ enlisted in the military in January 2023 and is scheduled to be discharged on July 21, 2025.
Kim Sae Ron was found deceased in her home in Seoul on February 16th, which was actor Kim Soo Hyun’s 37th birthday. Her family claims that Kim Sae Ron had been in a relationship with Kim Soo Hyun for over six years, beginning when she was a minor in 2015. The YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute released alleged photos, messages, and letters between the two. A legal dispute is also ongoing between Kim Soo Hyun’s agency and Kim Sae Ron’s side regarding a 700 million won (approximately $520,000 USD) penalty notice linked to her DUI incident.
