Claims have surfaced alleging that the late Kim Sae Ron was married during her lifetime and even underwent an abortion.
On March 19th, YouTuber Lee Jin Ho made a shocking claim on his channel, alleging that the bereaved family of Kim Sae Ron was hiding the fact that the late actress had been married.
In January, Kim Sae Ron had posted several wedding photos on Instagram with the caption “Marry.” At the time, her team dismissed marriage rumors, stating, “They were just snapshots taken with a friend.” However, Lee Jin Ho claimed otherwise, arguing, “After verifying the facts, it was confirmed that she had indeed been married at the time.” He further presented an audio recording allegedly containing the late star’s voice as evidence.
The recording, reportedly from a phone conversation on January 8th, features a woman believed to be Kim Sae Ron speaking with her female manager. The woman explained in the conversation how the wedding photos ended up online, saying, “I didn’t post them—my boyfriend did.”
She continued, “After breaking up with my ex-boyfriend, I started dating my current boyfriend. I wanted to end things, but then I got pregnant, and he pressured me into marrying him.” She then admitted, “I ended the pregnancy,” revealing that she had an abortion.
When asked, “Did you have a wedding? Was it in Korea or overseas?” the woman, presumed to be Kim Sae Ron, replied, “I did. It was overseas.”
She also claimed that her boyfriend controlled her social media accounts, saying, “My husband has access to my KakaoTalk and Instagram. We argued because he said, ‘I don’t understand why you keep hiding that we’re married. I wish you’d let people know.’ That’s why he posted the wedding photos. I told him to take them down immediately, and he did.”
When her manager said, “You can’t undo a marriage, can you?” she sighed and responded, “I never thought I’d end up marrying someone like this.”
Regarding her husband, she said they met through a mutual acquaintance and described him as “a regular person working at a big company in New York.” She added, “He’s fine normally, but he gets a bit off when he drinks. He’s insecure because we’re far apart. It started after he found out about my ex-boyfriend. We fought, and that’s when he posted the wedding photos.”
Meanwhile, the YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute reported, “Kim Sae Ron told her family that Kim Soo Hyun had asked her to change her phone, delete KakaoTalk and use Telegram for communication.”
In response, Lee Jin Ho countered, “The bereaved family is bringing up her relationship with Kim Soo Hyun from four years ago, but in reality, Kim Sae Ron was married to another man and living as a newlywed.” He added, “The claim that she attempted to take her own life solely because of Kim Soo Hyun is also untrue. At that time, she was with her husband in the U.S.”
Meanwhile, Kim Sae Ron’s bereaved family has decided to proceed with a digital forensic analysis to substantiate allegations of a relationship with Kim Soo Hyun during her minor years.
Lee Jin Ho faced criticism from netizens for defaming the deceased, with many arguing that exposing details of her marriage and abortion—both of which occurred during adulthood—was an attempt to distract from the key issue of Kim Soo Hyun’s alleged relationship with a minor.
