Jin has taken the global luxury market by storm after being named the first global ambassador for French high jewelry maison FRED. The announcement has led to a rapid sell-out of high-priced jewelry pieces, showcasing the BTS member’s immense global popularity.
FRED revealed on July 8th KST that Jin would be their first global brand ambassador. The brand expressed their excitement about partnering with the 21st-century pop icon and immediately adorned their official website with photos of Jin. The singer shared his excitement on Instagram, posting a photo wearing FRED jewelry and stating, “Grateful to be part of the FRED family as the Global Brand Ambassador. Please look forward to the new and diverse aspects I’ll be showcasing with FRED.”
FRED, a luxury high jewelry brand beloved by legendary actress and Princess of Monaco Grace Kelly, as well as various European royals, was founded in 1936. After 88 years, Jin is their first global ambassador, marking a significant milestone for the brand.
Following the announcement, a bracelet worth approximately 37.5 million KRW (around 28,500 USD) worn by Jin in a photoshoot quickly sold out. Additionally, the iconic Force 10 necklace, priced at approximately 134.6 million KRW (around 102,000 USD), and earrings worth 17.2 million KRW (around 13,000 USD) also became unavailable.
The influx of traffic to FRED’s official website caused it to crash, highlighting Jin’s unparalleled global influence and popularity. Since Jin’s appointment as global ambassador, FRED has seen its highest search volume on Google in five years. Jin-related searches have topped the charts globally, including in the United States, demonstrating the explosive reaction to this collaboration.
