BTS’s V has officially commenced his military service, joining the esteemed ROK II Corps, aka “Double Dragons” unit Chuncheon’s 2nd Infantry Division. On the 8th, V was spotted relocating to his new unit in Gangwon-do, Chuncheon, where he is set to serve in the military police special task force directly under the division’s command. Dressed in military attire and a crisply shaped beret, V’s presence was commanding, his charismatic demeanor capturing attention.
Prior to this assignment, V successfully passed the rigorous selection process for the Capital Defense Command’s Special Duty Team (SDT), including document screening, interviews, and physical fitness tests. He entered the recruit training center last December, where he underwent five weeks of basic military training alongside BTS’s RM. V also completed a three-week advanced course at the Army’s Comprehensive Administration School.

Notably, V and RM were recognized as elite trainees at the training center, a distinction awarded to only 5 out of 200 soldiers. Their exceptional training performance and exemplary conduct during service were lauded.
BTS members are all currently fulfilling their military obligations. Jin and J-Hope are serving as instructors, Suga is carrying out his duties as a public service worker, and RM has been assigned to the 15th Infantry Division. Jimin and Jungkook are set to continue their service with the 5th Infantry Division.
