Yoo Teo is gearing up for the domestic release of the movie Past Lives. The actor, who has been gaining significant attention for his role as Hae Sung, revealed his charismatic presence in a recent photoshoot for Harper’s Bazaar Korea.
In an accompanying interview, Yoo Teo shared his thoughts on the warm reception of Past Lives, which premiered internationally, saying, “The film is the first collaboration between CJ and A24, and I was eager from the audition stage. I cried the moment I read the script for the first time. It’s such a beautiful film, and I was thrilled to hear I was cast. Working with A24, an independent film studio with a unique system in the American movie industry, has been an enriching experience.”
Reflecting on his journey as an actor, particularly his time filming in New York where he spent his 20s dreaming of acting, the actor commented, “It feels like I’ve come full circle. Twenty years ago, I worked part-time jobs like waiting tables and went through hungry times there. Being in the heart of New York, with Korean titles everywhere and controlled streets, felt like a dream.”
Yoo Teo also expressed excitement about joining the cast of Netflix’s series The Recruit for its second season, saying, “From the audition, I had a feeling that I would have good chemistry with actor Noah Centineo. I’m looking forward to becoming good friends with him.” His enthusiasm for this new role was evident in his remarks.
