Doctor Slump is an upcoming rom-com depicting the resuscitation of two doctors experiencing the darkest period of their lives. The show brings together Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo director Oh Hyun Jong and ‘What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim writer Baek Sun Woo. The table read featured key production members, including the actors Park Hyung Sik, Park Shin Hye, and Yoon Park.

Reuniting for the first time in 10 years since The Heirs, the chemistry between Park Hyung Sik and Park Shin Hye was perfect. Park Hyung Sik plays Yeo Jeong Woo, a star plastic surgeon who falls into the worst slump of his life. Despite having walked a flower path from his school days as a top student to becoming a star doctor with both skills and character, Jeong Woo finds himself in the mire of life following a mysterious medical accident.

Park Shin Hye returns as the “rom-com queen” in the role of Nam Ha Neul, an anesthesiologist with burnout syndrome. Her transformation from a studious student to a work-consumed adult makes the story all the more relatable and realistic.

Yoon Park takes on the role of Bin Dae Young, a boastful plastic surgeon with an irreplaceable presence. Although he harbors a one-sided rivalry with his university peer Jeong Woo, he understands him better than anyone else.

The production team commented, “Yeo Jeong Woo and Nam Ha Neul will share their brightest and most humbling moments together. Their journey towards happiness and romance is expected to deliver excitement and empathy.”

Meanwhile, Doctor Slump will premiere on January 27th.
