Based on the popular web novel of the same name, Marry My Husband revolves around a woman who witnesses her husband and best friend’s affair, gets murdered, and then time-travels back 10 years ago, determined to reshape her miserable fate.
“In the drama, Kang Ji Won, portrayed by Park Min Young, is an ordinary woman dealing with an inept husband, his disrespectful family, and the challenges of her demanding job. Enduring a life where she puts others before herself, Ji Won becomes oblivious to the fact that she’s just a pawn to those who want to take advantage of her kindness. At the end of this dreadful road is the heart-wrenching discovery of her husband, Park Min Hwan (Lee Yi Kyung), having an affair with her best friend, Jung So Min (Song Ha Yoon), and the diagnosis of cancer in her youthful years.
The released photos capture Kang Ji Won in a hospital gown, wearing a cap, with a worn-out expression, vividly showcasing the toll her challenging life has taken on her.
Park Min Young, in an effort to authentically represent the character’s battle with cancer, underwent an intense weight loss regimen, bringing her weight down to 37kg. The production team stated, “Park Min Young spared no effort to realistically portray the character as a cancer patient. Everyone on set was genuinely surprised by the dedication she displayed.” They added, “The drama will excellently depict the stark contrast in Kang Ji Won’s life before and after regression, so we ask for much anticipation.”
Meanwhile, Marry My Husband featuring Park Min Young’s radical transformation is set to premiere on January 1st, 2024.
