Jungkook‘s new album GOLDEN made headlines in the international media.
American music outlet Consequence of Sound described Jungkook as “the resident all-rounder, able to meld his vocals, stage presence, and movement style to fit various genres.” The outlet continued, “But most of all, he knows how to use his greatest instrument: his voice. Through his collaborations and releases ahead of the full project, Jung Kook has made it clear that his solo era is a place for him to push his limits in that regard “
USA TODAY said, “On Golden, Jungkook manages to successfully meld oft-disparate genres including R&B, EDM, disco funk and pop ballads.”
Describing GOLDEN as “one of the strongest pop debuts of the year,” AP News reported, “Across this release, Jung Kook demonstrates a deep understanding of pop performance — and how, in the modern era, that requires innovative collaborations, heavily featured throughout his solo album.”

British music magazine, NME, stated, “For the most part, Golden works and achieves exactly what its mission seemingly is – capture Jungkook’s multifaceted artistry, charismatic vocals and irresistible pop appeal in 10 easily palatable songs primed for commercial success,” in an article titled “Jungkook – ‘Golden’ review: a new pop king prepares to take his throne.”
The music magazine added, “Every decade has its pop king. So far, the 2020s have been lacking one huge male solo star that reigns over the pop world but, with ‘Golden’, BTS’Jungkook proves he’s more than up to the task.
