Park Hae Jin is gearing up for a dramatic transformation in the upcoming SBS Thursday drama The Killing Vote.
The Killing Vote follows the pursuit of an unknown executioner who conducts a public execution vote targeting malicious criminals. Park Hae Jin steps into the role of Police Officer Kim Moo Chan, whose job is to track down the executioner. The show is based on a popular webtoon of the same name that accumulated over 130 million views.
When asked about his decision to participate in The Killing Vote, Park said, “I really enjoyed the original webtoon. Moreover, the topic felt fresh and innovative. Above all, the process of unraveling the concept of ‘the killing vote’ was extremely intriguing, which is why I joined the cast.”
Describing his character, Kim Moo Chan, Park stated, “He is the head of the Special Investigation Unit for ‘The Killing Vote.’ He’s a determined character who will not hesitate to take any measures necessary for case resolution.” He further hinted at the character’s complexities, “The viewers should closely watch the confrontations with Kwon Seok Joo (Park Sung Woong), the portrayal of Kim Moo Chan as a cop, and the unfolding of his inner nature.”
The production team of The Killing Vote previously highlighted Park’s action sequences. Speaking about it, Park said, “While it’s not my first time doing action scenes, I have strived to showcase a rougher, more raw side. I tried to perform all the stunts I was capable of doing myself. Given that my character, Kim Moo Chan, is the chaser in the narrative, there were plenty of running scenes. I believe the realistic and thrilling chase action scenes in The Killing Vote will also be another point of attraction.”
Meanwhile, The Killing Vote will premiere on August 10th, with the first two episodes airing consecutively at 9 PM KST.
