Kwon Sang Woo and his agency denied his tax evasion rumors.

On March 3rd, his agency Su Company addressed the allegations in an official statement, stating, “We would like to clarify rumors about the actor’s 2020 tax fraud and prevent them from further spreading.”

The company then denied the report that “Kwon Sang Woo allegedly attempted to evade taxes by purchasing five expensive cars under the name of his company.” His rep explained, “At the time of the tax investigation, a total of four cars – including 1 SUV and 1 sedan from domestic brands and 1 SUV and 1 sedan from overseas brands – were registered under Su Company’s name. All four vehicles were used only for business purposes, and we inform you that we had no issue with using them as they were recognized as corporate vehicles during the tax investigation.”

“Kwon Sang Woo used those cars only for business purposes and later he sold one of them. He has dutifully paid taxes and contributed to the nation’s finance,” the agency said, flatly denying that the actor deliberately sold the car he allegedly failed to report.

Lastly, they added, “At the time of the 2020 tax investigation, the tax authorities requested an explanation for the recognition period of profits and losses. There was a discrepancy for some of the recognition periods, so we voluntarily made an amended return and paid the fines. We want to clarify that there was neither omission nor tax evasion. We made the amendment because payments and refunds occurred simultaneously.”
