The fact that Rain and Kim Tae Hee bought a house in Irvine, California, for their children’s education has come to light.
On the 13th, tvN’s Free Doctor M covered Rain and Kim Tae Hee’s passion for their kids’ education.
The couple bought a house in Irvine in June 2019 for the price of $2 million. Irvine is one of the cities with the highest rate of Ivy League admissions in the States. It was named America’s safest city for the 17th straight year (as of last year), according to the FBI.
Besides Rain and Kim Tae Hee, Son Ji Chang and Oh Yeon Soo couple, Lee Jae Ryong, and Hang Suk Kyu have also bought a house in Irvine for their kids’ education.
One journalist on the show shared, “Firstly, Irvine is a planned city, so it’s very convenient to live in. And it’s located adjacent to the world’s most prestigious universities, so it is called the ‘education hub in America.’ Also, the weather is perfect, so many believe it’s a city perfect for kids’ education.”
“It costs about 30 million won (about $24,000) a year for kindergarten, 40 million won (about $32,000) for elementary school, 70 million won (about $55,000) for middle school, and 80 million won (about $63,000) for high school. And if you add living expenses, it’ll cost at least 1 billion won (about $780,000) to raise a kid in Irvine. This doesn’t include the housing price,” he continued.
