The December 15th broadcast of KBS’ Entertainment Company Live analyzed two young and rich celebrities: IU and Jennie.
Jennie debuted in 2016 as a member of BLACKPINK and made a successful solo debut with her single “SOLO.” IU began her K-pop music career when she was 16 and emerged as one of the best singer-songwriters as her songs instantly became huge hits.
The two are currently the most influential female Korean celebrity endorsers in the world. IU is the global ambassador for Gucci, and Jennie is the first Asian ambassador for Chanel. According to the show, the photos of Jennie taken at the last month’s Chanel show are worth about $2,700.
Jennie is also known as one of the richest South Korean idols. Her luxurious apartment in Hannam-dong, where Choo Ja Hyun and PSY also happen to live, is priced at about $4.58 million. The price tag of the furniture she used to decorate her house ranges from a few thousand to a million dollars. The Zanotta armchair and couch are each priced at $4,200 and $7,300, and her mattress is priced at about $129,000.
IU drew attention after purchasing a $9.92 million house in Gangnam-gu with cash. She currently lives in a high-end river view apartment where top stars like Yoo In Na, Zico and Crush live. Reports say she also bought a $2.3 million country house in Yangpyeong-gun for her family and has been donating to the district since 2020.
