In less than a year of their debut, IVE won their first grand prize at the Melon Music Awards 2022.
At the MMA 2022 held at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on the 26th, IVE achieved the feat of winning the Best Song of the Year and the Best New Artist of the Year.
“We received many awards today, and it’s an honor to receive the Best New Artist and Best song of the Year awards together,” An Yujin said in the acceptance speech. “‘LOVE DIVE’ needed a lot of help from many people to succeed, and we’re thankful to the CEO and all the staff.” Then she stressed, “There’s something I have to say. We won this award because all six of us were a team. Each and every member is so precious,” showing her love for her members.
IVE took home a total of four awards that day – Best Song of the Year, Best New Artist of the Year, Best Group (Female), and Top 10 Artists. This is all the more impressive, considering the fact that it’s been less than a year since the act made their debut on December 1st last year. Since then, IVE has made three consecutive hits with “ELEVEN,” “After LIKE,” and “LOVE DIVE.”

IVE gained global popularity with their songs that perfectly suit K-pop fans’ tastes, all the while solidifying their position in the industry with individual activities. In particular, An Yujin left a deep impression with her appearance on the variety show Earth Arcade, while Kang Wonyoung established herself as a beauty icon, so much so that “Copying Wonyoung” became a new trend for elementary school girls.
