The prosecution sought three years in prison for Yang Hyun Suk, the former CEO of YG Entertainment, at a hearing at the Seoul Central District Court on November 14th.

The former CEO of the agency was indicted for threatening a former trainee named Han Seo Hee, who testified to law enforcement in 2016 about a drug allegation involving a former member of YG’s boy band iKON, B.I.

The tribunal concluded that it was clear that Yang threatened the whistleblower by saying that it “would be easy to destroy someone like you” in the entertainment world. However, he has not acknowledged any of his remarks and even denied having said them.

“It is apparent that Yang intimidated a female group trainee to reverse her statement to the police by telling her that he would ‘kill her if she didn’t,” the prosecution claimed during Yang’s trial on November 14th at Seoul Central District Court in Seocho District. “Not only are his techniques and nature of crime vicious, but Yang has also not admitted to any of his crimes and has exhibited no remorse during investigations and trials.”
