EXO’s Xiumin is returning to the small screen after seven years with MONSTA X’s Hyungwon.
On the 14th, JTBC News reported that Xiumin was cast in the new drama Sajangdol Mart (literal title). SM Entertainment confirmed the news, “Xiumin, who’s celebrating the anniversary of his debut this year, will be leading Sajangdol Mart.”
Sajangdol Mart depicts the various stories that unfold as retired idol group members gather together to run a supermarket. The show comes from the Best Mistake helmer Lee Yoo Yeon.
Xiumin made his acting debut in the 2015 drama Falling for Challenge. Since then, he appeared in the movie Seondal: The Man who Sells the River and EXO’s 10th-anniversary movie. Reportedly joining him in the cast is MONSTA X’s Hyungwon, who’s starred in Fly, again and Please Find Her.
Sajangdol Mart will be released next year, though the broadcasting schedule is yet to be confirmed. The show is produced by The Great Show, a production company for Navillera and The Road: The Tragedy of One.
