IU and Park Bo Gum may be teaming up for a new drama.
On August 26th, a news outlet reported that IU and Park Bo Gum have been offered the lead role in a new drama written by When the Camellia Blooms �screenwriter Im Sang Choon.
Although Park Bo Gum made a special appearance on KBS’ THE Producers with IU as the lead actress in 2015, it will be their first time officially working together on a project.
Enlisting in August, 2020, Park Bo Gum took his last vacation from the military on February 21st and ended his service on April 30th. Since then, all eyes have been on him and what project he will choose to make his comeback.
IU has starred in multiple successful dramas, such as Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, My Mister, and Hotel Del Luna, and has recently won rave reviews for her latest movie, Broker.
Im Sang Choon wrote several hit dramas like Fight For My Way and When the Camellia Blooms and the thriller series made headlines in 2019 as it scored a record-breaking viewership rating of 23.8 percent.
The upcoming drama will be produced by Misaeng, Signal, and My Mister producer Kim Won Suk whom IU first met through My Mister.

Regarding the report, a source from IU’s agency EDAM Entertainment revealed, “IU is currently reviewing the offer for her next project.” However, a representative of Park Bo Gum’s agency Blossom Entertainment said that “nothing has been discussed in regards to his new project.”
