Drama Ranking for the 4th Week of July
This week’s rankings haven’t changed much from last week’s. ENA’s Extraordinary Attorney Woo ranked atop for six weeks, but its upward trend is stagnating. More people are saying that the romantic relationships in the drama lack explanation and that more and more cliches are showing up in every episode. Some even raised criticism about episode 12 for beautifying the former mayor of Seoul. However, the series continues to record high popularity and the actors are consistently ranked within the top 10 chart. MBC’s Big Mouth, which came in second, is continuing to see a rise. Lee Jong Suk’s passionate performance is highly acclaimed, and speculations over who the conman “Big Mouse” is pouring out. On the other hand, SBS’s Today’s Webtoon, which premiered on the same day, kept its spot in fourth place, but its popularity has declined. The primary opinions are that the storyline lacks structure and that Kim Se Jeong’s role is similar to her role in her previous drama Business Proposal. tvN’s Alchemy of Souls ranked third. Many showed disappointment over how the show was canceled for one week. tvN’s Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist debuted at No. 5, receiving favorable reviews for its original material, and JTBC’s The Good Detective 2 charted in the top 10 in the second week of its premiere. KBS’s Jinxed at First ended its journey in ninth place. And despite Ji Sung’s brilliant performance, tvN’s Adamas fell to 10th place because of the complicated plot and negative reactions toward some actors.
