The Witch is returning with an expanded worldview.
The Witch: Part2. The Other One �(hereinafter The Witch 2) is an action movie centering around “the girl,” the only survivor of a demolished secret laboratory. When she comes out into the world, various forces chase after her with different purposes.
The teaser released on the 12th announces the return of The Witch franchise with the greeting “It’s been a long time.” Soon, “the girl” (Shin Sia), who is the sole survivor of a secret research base that has been turned into ruins, takes the first step into the world, covered in blood. Baek (Jo Min Su), Jang (Lee Jong Suk), and Jo Hyun (Seo Eun Soo) question the whereabouts of “the girl.” In the meantime, Kyung Hee (Park Eun Bin) reaches out to “the girl” and Yong Du (Jin Goo) keeps an eye on them while a mysterious group of people chases after “the girl.”
Characters with different purposes appear one after another, raising expectations over the expanded worldview of The Witch. In particular, the line “She’s the touchstone of this project” gives a glimpse into the immense presence of the new witch.
For The Witch 2, director Park Hoon Jung and the crew of The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion have joined hands once again. Shin Sia had beat out 1408 other hopefuls for the role of “the girl.” The movie boasts an impressive cast and cameo lineup, including Park Eun Bin, Seo Eun Soo, Jin Goo, Sung Yoo Bin, Jo Min Su, Lee Jong Suk, and Kim Da Mi.
Meanwhile, The Witch 2 has confirmed a June release.
