Netflix has confirmed the production of its new series Black Knight. Kim Woo Bin, Esom, and Kang Yoo Seok will star in the new series directed by Cho Ui Seok.
Black Knight is set in an air polluted world in 2071, where people depend on respirator masks to breathe. In such a time, delivery drivers play a crucial role within the society’s system as many rely on delivery services for survival. The show tells the story of a legendary delivery driver 5-8 with exceptional battle skills and a refugee Sa Wol who dreams of following in his footsteps. The series is based on a webtoon of the same name, which won the E-IP Pitching Award at the 2018 Asian Film Market.
Kim Woo Bin will be reuniting with Master director Cho Ui Seok in the upcoming movie and play the legendary delivery knight 5-8. Rookie actor Kang Yoo Seok will take the role of Sa Wol, who aspires to be a delivery agent following in 5-8’s footsteps. Esom will be playing Seol Ah, a military officer at the Defense Intelligence Command who cares for Sa Wol like her own family.
