Netflix’s Korean original series The Silent Sea is receiving contrasting reviews.

The series is currently receiving both positive and negative reviews from viewers. Some criticized the unnatural narrative and the cliché-filled plot of the show. Others left positive reviews on the show for its state-of-art computer graphics and visual effects.

24 hours after its premiere, The Silent Sea received an IMDb rating of 7.2 out of 10 from 400 users. It is lower than what Squid Game (IMDb 8.0) has initially received from the critics but higher than whatHellbound has received (IMDb 6.7). However, since the show was just released a couple of days ago, many are expecting that the ratings will go down in the coming weeks. Currently, the IMDb rating for The Silent Sea stands at 7.1, with 1800 participants completing the survey.

The Silent Sea received a 68 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes with a star rating of 3.6 out of 5 from 22 reviewers. The Fresh score, which gauges film critics’ reviews, is not yet calculated. Many are expecting that the critics would either love or hate the show.

Meanwhile, according to FlixPatrol, which provides worldwide streaming stats, The Silent Sea started off by ranking 7th among all the global Netflix TV programs. In two days after the premiere, it went up to No.4.
