Blackpink Heralds a Massive Project for Their 5th Anniversary

Blackpink is gearing up for a huge project to celebrate the 5th-anniversary of its debut in August.

Earlier today, YG Entertainment released a poster announcing Blackpink’s upcoming project called the “4+1 PROJECT.” Although the specific details are yet to be revealed, fans’ curiosity soared as to what “4+1” means.

Some say that the number means Blackpink members plus BLINK, while some say that it’s the number of events the group has prepared.

YG shared, “We have planned various projects to meet the love and expectations of many people. We will release the content sequentially on the 5th-anniversary event site (5th.blackpinkofficial.com).”

Blackpink debuted in August 2016, and since then, every song they released became a global hit. Thanks to their success, Blackpink became the first K-pop girl group to perform on “Coachella” and successfully held 32 would tour in 23 cities on four continents. In addition, they collaborated with pop stars like Dua Lipa, Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, and Cardi B, expanding their global power.

Moreover, the group’s first full album, THE ALBUM, ranked second on Billboard 200 and UK official Chart, making new K-pop girl group history. Also, Blackpink currently has 62.1 million YouTube subscribers, becoming the first female artist in the world to amass 60 million subscribers on Youtube.
