An industry insider said on the 24th, “Hwang In Yup has been offered to play the main character of the new SBS series Why Oh Soo Jae?”
Why Oh Soo Jae? is a story about a woman who made a wrong choice and dreams of an unfaithful success. When she meets a young man, it changes her life, and she finally starts to love herself. Hwang In Yup will play Gong Chan, a freshman at Seojung Law School and a bar owner.
He had gone to jail with false accusations when he met Oh Su Jae, then came back to school after clearing himself of the wrongful charges. As a freshman Gong Chan, he meets Oh Soo Jae again as his professor in the law school.
Hwang In Yup debuted as a fashion model in 2017 and earned attention through a web drama Playlist in 2018. Through tvN’s True Beauty, he gained much popularity. Later, he joined the upcoming Netflix show Annarasumanara. Kim Young Dae was in talks for the role, but he couldn’t join the series due to scheduling reasons.
Why Oh Soo Jae? will premiere on SBS next year, with a rookie writer Kim Ji Eun and The Hymn of Death producer Park Soo Jin.
