Award-winning director Bong Joon Ho is working on his new project, and it will be an animated film.

According to the production company 4th CREATIVE PARTY, Bong’s new project will be a Korean animation movie. Bong has partnered with Korean VFX company 4th CREATIVE PARTY to create a full visual effect animation about deep-sea creatures and humans.

“Director Bong Joon Ho came up with the idea in 2018 and has worked on it since then. And last January, he completed his screenplay,” said an official from 4th CREATIVE PARTY. “Bong is currently working on the scripts of his new live-action film in English. This upcoming animation is his new Korean project, and it will be unveiled after his American project is released.”

In several interviews conducted earlier, Bong shared that he is working on two different projects, each made as a Korean and English version.

Bong’s latest film, Parasite, had won four Academy Awards. Hence, his new attempt to challenge animated film is already raising the expectation level through the roof.
