Park Hyung Sik will embark on his full-fledged comeback schedule with two new projects.
Park Hyung Sik has chosen two completely different projects for his comeback.
Earlier, the actor reportedly has been offered the lead roles in tvN’s new historical series, The Golden Hairpin. But the project came under fire for adapting the plots of a Chinese novel. And today, Sports Chosun reported, “tvN’s new historical drama will transform into the writer’s original play. In other words, the series will not follow the original Chinese plot and become an original Korean show with the writer’s imagination, instead.”
For the new project, Park Hyung Sik will join the I Need Romance series and Lovestruck in the City screenwriter Jung Hyun Jung. 100 Days My Prince and Another Miss Oh director Lee Jong Jae will helm the production, completing the shining romance.
As they moved back the new series’ production from June to September, Park Hyung Sik will also hop on Ahn Gil Ho’s new tvN series, Happiness.
Happiness is known as an apocalyptic thriller when infectious diseases have become the new normal. The plot revolves around a newly constructed apartment where the higher floors are for sales, and the lower floors are rental housing for the people in need. While people suffer from infectious disease that causes undying thirst, the series depicts the subtle psychological battle and class discrimination.
Park Hyung Sik plays detective Jung Yi Hyun. He is Yoon Sae Bom’s high school friend and her fake husband. He was an excellent high school baseball player soon to join the professional league as a starting pitcher. But when he got his knee injured, he had to give up his dream. With Yoon Sae Bom’s help, he learns how to stand on his two own feet and fulfills his duty as a cop.
For Happiness, director Ahn Gil Ho and screenwriter Han Sang Woon will partner up after Watcher. Studio Dragon will start shooting the series next month.
