Han Ye Ri won the Best Actress Award at the Gold List Awards hosted by the Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment (CAPE) for her performance in the film Minari.

The Gold List is co-hosted by CAPE and the Gold House, a non-profit organization that bolsters multicultural movies to box office success. This inaugural award honors the most outstanding Asian and Pacific Islander (API) achievements in film each year.

The reason why this award ceremony is even more meaningful is that along with Han Ye Ri’s first Best Actress Award, Minari swept trophies in all categories and took home a total of 7 trophies.

In addition, Minari has been nominated for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Original Screenplay at the Film Independent Spirit Awards (FISA), dubbed the “Oscars for independent films.” Han Ye Ri and Youn Yuh Jung were nominated together for the Best Supporting Actress Award, while director Lee Isaac Chung was included in the nominations for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay. The winners will be announced on April 24.

Minari follows a Korean-American family that moves to a tiny Arkansas farm in search of their own American Dream.
