Kang Ye Won revealed that she could be responsible for nearly 1.1 billion won ($700,000) in debt left behind by her late father, on top of his medical bills.

In a preview for the June 8th episode of SBS’s My Little Old Boy, Kang Ye Won met with a lawyer to review her father’s estate following his passing.

During the meeting, the lawyer told her that her father’s debt was estimated at 1 to 1.1 billion won ($644,000 to $700,000). Shocked, Kang Ye Won asked, “Do I have to repay it immediately?”

She went on to explain that she was already struggling to cover her father’s hospital bills and did not have the financial means to repay such a large amount.

When the lawyer warned that the debt could continue to grow if left unresolved, Kang Ye Won became emotional and broke down in tears.

Kang Ye Won’s father passed away on April 30th. According to reports, he had been receiving treatment at a nursing home before his death.

Born in 1979, Kang Ye Won made her acting debut in 2001 with the drama Honey Honey. Over the years, she has appeared in popular films, including Haeundae and The Huntresses, as well as drama Bad Guys.
