Chae Won Bin recently revealed her thoughts on working with Ahn Hyo Seop in the Netflix romantic comedy Sold Out On You and recollects her nerve-wracking emotions during their kiss scene.
Chae Won Bin met with News Culture at the Outer Universe office in Seoul on June 2nd, where she deeply discussed the project and some of the fan-favorite scenes. She shared various stories, including episodes related to the recently concluded SBS romance Sold Out On You.
Chae Won Bin stated, “When I first received the offer, I felt burdened because it was my first leading role in a rom-com. However, at the same time, I felt ambitious. I approached it with the mindset of ‘I just need to try my best.'” When the topic of her first on-screen romance partner being none other than the talented Ahn Hyo Seop, Chae Won Bin seemed aflutter speaking on it. “Although he might not seem like it at first glance, he’s very playful. I think he’s naturally witty, too. He always had many ideas, and filming comedic scenes was always very fun.”
Star Chae Won Bin further expressed her gratitude, saying, “I received a lot of help from my senior Ahn Hyo Seop, who has a lot of experience filming romantic K-dramas. I am truly thankful for his help. Having him for my first romance drama role was a blessing. I learned a lot.”
When the hot topic of her kiss scene was mentioned, Chae Won Bin confessed her emotions fully. “At first, I wondered how I should do it. I was also shy.” She then revealed her feelings in the moment, assuming, “Ahn Hyo Seop must have gone through similar times, too, so he understood my feelings well.” While discussing how the scene was acted out, she further revealed, “Instead of saying, ‘You have to do it this way to make it look good,’ Ahn Hyo Seop said, ‘ Are you nervous? Me too,’ and hearing those words was helpful. When you’re nervous, you can’t just stop being nervous, right? In that sense, he gave me a lot of courage.”
Now that the drama has concluded, fans are eagerly awaiting more romantic projects from both Chae Won Bin and Ahn Hyo Seop in the future, as well as more moments for them to appear together. If you haven’t seen it yet, Sold Out On You is a romantic comedy depicting the story of a perfectionist farmer, Matthew Lee (Ahn Hyo Seop), and a best-selling home shopping host, Dam Ye Jin (Chae Won-bin), who are the epitome of day and night but become entangled with each other. Chae Won Bin, who took on her first romantic comedy role, proved her wide acting spectrum by adding strong energy, bright and lovely charms, a professional work ethic, and delicate acting onscreen that paired well with her co-star.
Chae Won Bin debuted in 2019 with the film Manage and has shown her presence in various works such as the films The Witch: Part 2. The Other One, YADANG: The Snitch, and the Sweet Home series. She is currently preparing to film her next project, Secret Love Tales of Soosung Palace (literal translation).
