3 Stars Who Are Coming Back after Being Discharged from the Military

Actors who have completed their military services are returning. Park Hyun Sik, Lee Jong Suk, and Do Kyung Soo plan to come back to soothe the drama scene which has recently been “lacking male protagonists.” While the works of top stars have continued to be released, several rookie actors rose to lead roles as they were shunned by the viewers for their poor acting skills. Someone in the industry said, “While the number of productions decreased due to COVID-19, the number of platforms has increased. Hence, leading to a phenomenon where they lacked actors. As the actors whose discharges have been awaited for are returning, there will be calls for them from everywhere.”

Park Hyung Sik has faithfully served in the military as a part of the Capital Defense Command Military Police Group since he enlisted in June 2019. He was nominated for and won the 40th Blue Dragon Film Awards’ Rookie of the Year in 2019, and thus visited the ceremony as he drew attention with a dignified appearance in his military uniform. Winning the Popular Star Award for the movie Juror 8 at the time, he revealed in his acceptance speech, “I will come back as an improved person so that I can play in any roles.”

Park Hyung Sik was discharged on the 4th. His agency United Artists Agency revealed that they are “discussing his comeback piece after receiving proposals from various movies and dramas.” Park Hyung Sik has in fact been receiving a flooding amount of scripts before his discharge, including those of fantasy masterpieces. Attention is being focused on his next move as he actively participated in all genres in the past, such as Strong Girl Bong Soon, Suits, and Juror 8.

Lee Jong Suk, who has been discharged from social services is also a hot issue. His comeback is pleasant news as he established himself as a top actor through numerous dramas, starting with School 2013, I Can Hear Your Voice, W, and While You Were Sleeping.

His first move will be made in a movie. Lee Jong Suk will star in The Witch: Part 2, a sequel to the movie The Witch which was canceled as it overlapped with his enlistment. He will allay the disappointment by making a special appearance in The Witch, a film which he considered appearing because of his relationship with the director Park Hoon Jung. While he chose to return to the big screens first, the interests of the broadcasting companies remain heated.

While Do Kyung Soo debuted as a member of EXO, his title as an actor is not inept at all. Currently on his last vacation, Do Kyung Soo will be discharged from the military without returning on the upcoming 25th. He demonstrated a stable acting skill as a rookie actor through It’s Okay, That’s Love, produced the highest viewer rating for tvN’s Mon-Tues series 100 Days my Prince, and received attention by featuring in the movie series which made double 10 million ticket sales, Along with the Gods. He has also been recognized as a potential to be a top protagonist in the movie Swing Kids.

Do Kyung Soo will be reunited with director Kim Yong Hwa after being discharged from the military. He will star in a movie which Kim Yong Hwa is currently preparing, The Moon, as he works along with Sol Kyung Gu. The movie is about a man left alone in space and another man on Earth who is desperately trying to save him.
