Big Hit Takes Legal Actions to give Penalties for Malicious Comments

Big Hit Entertainment is taking strong action towards netizens who post malicious comments about their artist, BTS.

“We are regularly taking legal actions against those behind malicious posts which contain defamation, insults, sexual harassments, and false information against BTS,” Big Hit Entertainment announced, on its official SNS on the 30th of December. They added, “We recently filed a complaint to the investigative authorities based on new evidence collected through fans’ reports and self-monitoring.”

Furthermore, they explained that several defendants were already previously convicted and fined, but continue to post malicious contents despite being under investigation. In such cases, the company will continue to take legal action until the malicious content is stopped. Big Hit Entertainment revealed, “Some people have created dozens of accounts to post malicious contents. We monitored and filed complaints against all accounts believed to be owned by the defendant in question.”

Big Hit added, “In particular, the company plans to seek a civil claim for damages done by suspects who continue their criminal activities even after they were convicted. We will take stricter measures to ensure that they receive strong legal penalties, without agreements nor leniency in the process.”
