The K-pop industry is once again on the alert as Golden Child’s Jaehyun tested positive for COVID-19.
Golden Child’s agency Woolim Entertainment announced on December 17th that “Jaehyun had conducted a preemptive test on the evening of December 16th and was confirmed as a positive case the next morning.” It is reported that Jaehyun did not participate in any outdoor activities apart from his filming schedules.
The company added, “Jaehyun is asymptomatic, and he plans to self-quarantine as health authorities have instructed.” Golden Child’s members and all company staff have been tested preemptively and are currently under self-quarantine.

There are also concerns about the spread of the Coronavirus centered around the hair and makeup salon which Jaehyun goes to. As customers of the same salon, SEVENTEEN and NCT have already laid off their KBS Song Festival pre-recording schedule in order to test for COVID-19.
SEVENTEEN’s agency Pledis Entertainment and NCT’s agency SM Entertainment had both released statements to confirm that members have been preemptively tested for COVID-19.
KBS has said that they are making sure artists don’t come in direct contact with each other, for their safety.
