It’s called “battle over Seo Hyun Jin,” and this started when SBS “confirmed” the appearance of the actress in one of its new dramas.
Yesterday, SBS held its “2021 SBS Showcase” that introduced the networks’ new roster for the coming year and announced that Seo Hyun Jin has been cast to star in Why Oh Soo Jae? Han Jung Hwan, CEO of Studio S, even shared, “I asked Seo Hyun Jun why she wanted to start in this drama, and she said, ‘Because she is such a b****.’ She will be showing a whole new side of her.”
However, this “confirmation” only put Seo Hyun Jin in an awkward situation. This is because Seo Hyun Jun was already reported to have been considering her appearance in tvN’s new drama You Are My Spring with Yoon Kye Sang. But when SBS announced her casting, it made it seem like the actress had been poking around two works and eventually chose Why Oh Soo Jae? over You Are My Spring.
Thanks to this, Seo’s “good plan” fell through. Her original plan was to coordinate both projects into her schedule, depending on how they are programmed. But with SBS’s “announcement,” her image as “rom-com queen” was scratched.
Maybe SBS wanted to gain the upper hand in the “battle over Seo Hyun Jin.” But now, an actor who has to select a project and focus on the acting faces a tiring situation as she got embroiled in an outside gossip.
