With this glorious achievement, BTS became the first K-pop group to become nominees in all three major music awards in the U.S. This megahit Korean act has been nominated for the Billboard Music Awards and the American Music Awards and also won the awards for four and three consecutive years, respectively. Attention is already focusing on whether BTS will take home their first award from the Grammys.
Immediately after the announcement, BTS expressed their overwhelming emotions by writing, “Thank you all for listening to and sympathizing with our music during difficult times. More than anything else, ARMYs are the ones who made the miracle for us to become ‘Grammys-nominated artists.’ Thank you and love you. Thank you Recording Academy for this great honor!”
The group also posted a short clip of RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook watching the live broadcast of the Recording Academy’s announcement. Each member showed different reactions (getting stoned, shouting, jumping), putting a smile on fans’ faces. Soon, J-Hope and Suga also expressed their joy, drawing attention.
