EXO’s Xiumin will be officially dismissed from the military without returning to the unit early next month.

According to a media outlet, Xiumin has been on his last vacation and will be discharged on December 6 without having to return to the base due to the aftermath of COVID-19.

Xiumin joined the military on May 7 last year and fulfilled his duty of national defense. He participated in the army musical Return as child days of Young Ho last year and as Hyun Min this year. Recently, he left the base for his last vacation and will officially become a civilian on December 6.

Since February, the Ministry of National Defense has been controlling all soldiers’ vacations, outings, overnight stays, and visits after some soldiers were tested positive with COVID-19. In addition, soldiers are adjusting their schedules for their last vacation so they can leave the military without returning to the unit.

As a result, Xiumin became the first member of EXO who has completed his military duty. D.O., who enlisted in July last year, is also set to be discharged in January next year, while Suho and Chen joined the boot camp this year.
