Prosecutors cleared Shin Hyun Joon, a 51-year-old actor accused of defamation by his former manager Kim.

On November 12, the prosecutor’s office decided not to indict Shin Hyun Joon for violating the Information and Communication Network Act (defamation).

Back in July, Kim claimed that Shin Hyun Joon has been abusing his power for 13 years, including unreasonable payment and frequently lashing out. Later, he filed a complaint with the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul, saying, “Shin Hyun Joon illegally administered propofol around 2010.”

Earlier in August, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul turned down Kim’s complaint, stating, “The year 2010 when Shin Hyun Joon took propofol was when propofol was not designated as an illegal drug, and the statute of limitations has expired.”

Shin Hyun Joon delivered his plans and thoughts via his lawyer and said, “It has been revealed through investigation that everything Kim claimed, such as taking propofol or power trip, is not true at all. We have sued Kim for defamation and the investigation is currently underway. We will continue to hold him strictly responsible for all the legal responsibilities.”

He added, “With this incident, I was able to look back on myself. I will try to be more upright and greet you with more mature thoughts.”
