Chaeyoung announced her exclusive contract termination on her personal social media on August 13th.

Chaeyoung expressed her gratitude, stating, “I want to thank the JYP staff and the TWICE team who have supported and believed in me, the mischievous me, for 14 years including my trainee period.” She also revealed her affection for the group, saying, “I want to tell our members, who have steadfastly cheered me on and given me strength, that I love you.”
While leaving JYP Entertainment, Chaeyoung announced that her activities with TWICE will continue unchanged.
She added, “My activities with TWICE will continue as before. I believe the reason I have received so much love is because of the time I’ve spent as TWICE, my roots.” She continued, “I hope that both Chaeyoung as part of TWICE and Chaeyoung as ‘LIL FANTASY’ can become people who bring precious music to your lives. I promise to become an even better person through this new challenge. Please continue to watch me.”
