The world-famous group BTS will be attending this year’s Melon Music Awards (MMA).
Today, Kakao announced that BTS has confirmed their appearance at the MMA, an award ceremony conducted by the music platform Melon, which will be held from December 2 to 5.
The MMA, which began in 2005, is a music awards ceremony that selects winners by reflecting data collected through Melon, fan votes, and experts’ evaluations. Although the event was held online and offline until last year, this year’s ceremony will only be held online this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
At last year’s awards ceremony, BTS won a total of eight awards, sweeping all four Grand prizes (Artist of the Year Award, Album of the Year Award, Song of the Year Award, Record of the Year Award). Though the group’s performance drew keen attention every year, their “IDOL” performance in 2018 certainly made headlines.
Meanwhile, BTS is gearing up for their comeback with a new album BE on November 20.
