‘Steel Rain 2: Summit’ Director Yang Woo Suk to Cinematize Popular Cartoon ‘The Ruler of The Land’

Director Yang Woo Suk will produce popular cartoon The Ruler of The Land into a movie.

According to the movie industry, director Yang Woo Suk recently signed a contract for the publication rights of The Ruler of The Land. The Ruler of The Land was published in 1994 and has been a hit for 26 years. It is a popular cartoon that marked a new era in Korea’s martial arts comics and has gained popularity not only in Korea but also in China, Taiwan, Japan, and other Asian countries. The movie was also made into a game and received rave reviews.

This mega-hit cartoon will be cinematized by director Yang Woo Suk, who directed The Attorney and Steel Rain series.

Previously in 2010, The Ruler of The Land had plans to be produced as a joint film between Korea and China, but was later canceled. It is said that director Yang Woo Suk is planning a long-term project by signing a 10-year contract.

Rumor has it that he is trying to make this like a martial art version of the Harry Potter series. Whether The Ruler of The Land can be reborn as a film under the direction of director Yang Woo Suk is expected to draw keen attention from original fans.
