Movie Space Sweepers unveiled the still photos of Song Joong Ki.
Space Sweepers, set in the year 2092, is about the crew of space junk collector ship The Victory jumping into a dangerous deal after discovering a humanoid robot named Dorothy that’s known to be a weapon of mass destruction. It previously made headlines as Song Joong Ki’s comeback movie.
Tae Ho, played by Song Joong Ki, is a former UTS Task Force Team ace who became a pilot for The Victory after suffering an irreversible accident during the operation and losing everything. After hitting the bottom of the pitfall, he became a person who would do anything for money.
He always wears socks with holes and controls The Victory with a relaxed smile. Even when they happen to find a humanoid robot Dorothy, known to be a weapon of mass destruction, what he cares about the most is reselling it to earn money.
Song Joong Ki said that when he first read the script, he thought that he wanted to present a “raw and not stylish” performance. He added, “I wanted to express the bright side and the hidden inner side of Tae Ho’s character well.”
Director Jo Seung Hee, who worked with Song Joong Ki again following A Werewolf �Boy, said, “Song Joong Ki is an actor who fills the gap in his character and creates his own,” showing his satisfaction in working with the actor. “He perfectly expressed everything Tae Ho has. He is also an actor who makes people laugh all the time, who is still sincere, bright, and cheerful and gives people strength,” he added.
Space Sweepers, one of the most anticipated movies in 2020, will be released on September 23.
