SBS confirmed that actor Ha Jung Woo, who was suspected of illegally taking propofol at a plastic surgery clinic, was questioned by prosecutors. The prosecution will soon decide whether to indict the actor.
The Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office has investigated actor Ha Jung Woo, who is suspected of taking illegal propofol medication.
Prosecutors questioned Ha over allegations that he illegally administered propofol, a sleeping anesthetic called a “milk injection,” at a plastic surgery clinic in southern Seoul.
They specifically focused on the fact that Ha Jung Woo took propofol under two people’s names, his younger brother and his manager.
It was reported that he denied all charges, saying that the drug was only used for therapeutic purposes. In a telephone interview with SBS, he said, “There was no drug abuse, and the medical treatment in someone else’s name was only in accordance with the hospital’s request.”
Earlier in February, Ha Jung Woo issued a statement in response to allegations of propofol usages, and explained that he only took them while receiving face scars treatment with a laser for about 10 times from January to September 2019.
