tvN will showcase a variety of new entertainment shows in May. From a new series of tvN’s trusted entertainment shows to entirely new entertainment shows that give a glimpse into recent trends, attention is being paid to whether a total of five upcoming shows will captivate the viewers.
1. “Go-to Combination” Cha Seung Won, Yoo Hae Jin, and Son Ho jun
Three Meals a Day: Fishing Village 5, which aired its first episode on May 1, made a triumphant comeback as Cha Seung Won, Yoo Hae Jin, and Son Ho Jun’s natural chemistry gave laughter. The first episode recorded an average of 9.3 percent viewer ratings and the highest viewer ratings of 11.2 percent (based on Nielsen Korea), topping the viewership chart of the same time slot. Cha Seung Won, Yoo Hae Jin, and Son Ho Jun, who are once again united following the first and second series of Three Meals a Day: Fishing Village and Three Meals a Day: Gochang Village, are receiving enthusiastic responses from viewers for their small and warm daily lives.
2. Sechs Kies’s First Self-Sufficient Cohabitation
Sechs Kies, who has been loved for a long time, will challenge their first cohabitation in 23 years since their debut. The group who have never lived together before will camp together and cook/eat three meals a day. Expectations are already high for the cohabitation like of Sechs Kies under the lead of Eun Ji Won, who is known for his nickname “Eun Ji Anxiety (Eun Ji Won + Separation Anxiety)” as he hates hosting the entertainment show alone. Three Meals Four Guys (working title) will premiere on May 15, and a full version will be released later on producer Na Young Suk’s YouTube channel.
3. Perfectly Local-Flavored Reality Show
On May 19, the first episode of 4 Wheeled Restaurant Korea will air. The show takes a group of Korean celebrities and a food truck to challenge the taste buds of locals. Chef Sam Kim will work with Ahn Jung Hwan, Yoon Soo Joon, and Jung Se Woon to make Italian food. They will formally register their restaurant in the delivery application and hide their identity, receiving honest reviews solely on their food.
4, A Documentary-Like Show that Shows Candid Live of Celebs
On and Off, which aired its first episode on May 2, drew attention as the cast presented laughter and sympathy with their daily lives. On and Off is an entertainment show that captures the daily lives of celebs in the middle of “keeping social distance” (OFF) even in their busy days (ON). The show stars Sung Shi Kyung, Jo Se Ho, and Kim Min Ah. In the first episode, Sung Shi Kyung and Jo Se Jo’s on-and-off lives were aired, and in the upcoming second episode, Kim Min Ah’s “On and Off” will be presented.
5. Satisfying Talk Show Predicting Lifelong Diseases
Now that interests in the topic of health are rising, Body Conversation (literal translation) is expected to catch the eye. The show predicts diseases through genetic testing presents preventive solutions. Jun Hyun Moo, Lee Ji Hye, Moon Se Yun, and Hong Shin Ae will host the show.
