Son Ye Jin has revealed why she covers husband Hyun Bin‘s face with stickers when sharing family photos on Instagram.
Appearing on Netflix Korea’s YouTube show, the actress opened up about a recent family vacation and explained that the stickers were actually Hyun Bin’s idea.
Asked about her happiest recent memory, Son said she had traveled to Okinawa and the United States with her family.
“The schedule was packed and completely centered around our child, so it was physically exhausting,” she recalled. “But traveling together as a family brought me so much happiness.”
When asked whether covering Hyun Bin’s face in her vacation photos was her own decision or simply a way of respecting his privacy, Son revealed that the request came directly from him.
“I asked him, ‘Can’t I just post them?'” she said. “And he told me, ‘Cover me up.’ So now I always cover his face.”
Son also revealed that she created a separate account called “Yejinfoot” to share more casual glimpses of her everyday life outside her official account. However, after posts from the account began making headlines as well, she felt increasingly self-conscious and became more hesitant to post.
Meanwhile, Son has returned to the screen in Netflix’s The Scandal, playing Lady Cho, a progressive woman unwilling to be bound by the conventions of the Joseon era.
She also shared a glimpse of married life while discussing preparations for the historical drama. Son said she once asked Hyun Bin to read opposite her while she practiced her lines, only to find his delivery so flat that she told him to “put some emotion into it.”
