Kim Yoo Jung and Park Jin Young will lead the upcoming tvN drama 100 Days of Lies (literal title), alongside Kim Hyun Joo, Lee Mu Saeng and Jin Sun Kyu.
Set to air in the second half of 2026, the series is an espionage romance set in colonial-era Gyeongseong. The story follows a legendary pickpocket who infiltrates the Japanese Government-General disguised as a trainee interpreter and becomes entangled in a dangerous relationship with an elite interpreter—the adopted son of the government’s powerful political chief.
Director Yoo In Sik, known for the Dr. Romantic series and Extraordinary Attorney Woo, helms the project, with Do You Like Brahms? writer Ryu Bo Ri penning the script.
Kim Yoo Jung plays Lee Ga Kyung, the most skilled pickpocket in Gyeongseong who goes undercover for 100 days as an interpreter trainee. While saving money to leave for America, she is drawn into a covert resistance mission and infiltrates the colonial government.
“It is an honor to be part of such a meaningful project,” Kim Yoo Jung said. “I hope this becomes a warm story that also encourages viewers to reflect on history and life.”
Park Jin Young stars as Kim Tae Woong, who takes the Japanese name Hideo Sato after being adopted by a powerful Japanese political leader. An elite interpreter fluent in English, Japanese and Korean, he returns to Korea after more than a decade abroad to take on a critical role during a politically tense era.
“Because the drama is set during a painful time in history, I’m approaching the project with great care,” he said. “I will do my best to make it a meaningful series.”
Kim Hyun Joo plays Yoo So Ran, a sniper from an anti-Japanese resistance group seeking revenge. After assuming a Chinese identity and entering a fake marriage with Yoo Philip, she returns to Korea more than a decade later to carry out an assassination mission—and ends up striking a life-or-death deal with Lee Ga Kyung.
Lee Moo Saeng portrays Yoo Philip, a Korean American journalist working as a Gyeongseong correspondent for an American newspaper, while Jin Sun Kyu takes on the role of Shinichi Sato, the calculating political chief of the Government-General and the resistance group’s primary target.
100 Days of Lies is slated to premiere in the second half of 2026.
