i-dle opened up about what it was like behind the scenes during their contract renewal period on the May 24 episode of JTBC’s Knowing Bros.
Minnie shared, “I always go to a fortune teller, so I called them and asked, ‘We have to renew our contracts soon—what should I do?’ They told me not to worry.”
When asked if she almost joined another company, Miyeon replied, “No, I just kept my distance from the company for a bit. I was scared I might say the wrong thing if someone asked me something during negotiations.”
Yuqi added, “When the news about our renewals came out, I got a lot of offers from other companies. I wasn’t seriously tempted, but I did waver a little after talking with the company and the members.”
Then Kim Hee Chul said, “There’s one member who quietly got a lawyer,” and Lee Soo Geun joked, “So you were planning to leave.” Shuhua admitted, “Yeah, that’s true.” But she added, “When I thought about the members, I felt it’d be better to stick together as a team.”
Leader Jeon So Yeon also shared, “I had so many conversations with Shuhua.” She said she sat down one-on-one with each member to talk things through and personally took part in the detailed negotiations. “I even made edits to the contract wording—I really got into the details,” she said, impressing everyone.
