Twelve SBS productions, including the drama The Judge from Hell and the special interview series Those Who Saw the Future, have taken home prestigious awards at the 58th WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival.

The Judge from Hell, which won the Platinum Remi Award in the TV Special Dramatic category, follows a demon named Kang Bit Na who possesses a judge’s body and teams up with a passionate detective, Han Da On, to punish criminals in a hellish reality while evolving into a true judge. This fantasy legal thriller earned international recognition for its original concept, social commentary, masterful direction, and stellar performances.

Also winning Platinum in the Interview category was Those Who Saw the Future, a commemorative special celebrating 20 years of SBS’s flagship knowledge-sharing forum, SDF. The series revisits former keynote speakers to explore whether their past insights still hold water today—probing questions about our present and the future, drawing critical acclaim for its depth and relevance.

Additional Gold Remi Awards went to seven SBS works including: Deep Back‘s North Korea’s War Entry and Korea-Russia Relations; VIDEOMUG Chronicles‘ ” Homecoming After 80 Years; SBS Special-Hakjeon; Unanswered Questions‘ “Ruth Yoonhee and the Eleven Marks” episode; Fortune Tellers’ Love, Jungle Bob and Flex X Cop.

Furthermore, two programs earned Silver Remis—A Story about the Day’s “The Circus Girl” episode and Explained.

Now in its 58th year, WorldFest-Houston stands alongside the Banff Media Festivals as one of North America’s most prestigious television events. It’s especially known for launching the career of Steven Spielberg. Commonly called the Remi Awards, this honor is considered one of North America’s most prestigious accolades, alongside the Emmy and Tony Awards.
