Do Kyung Soo, aka D.O., addressed EXO’s highly anticipated reunion and the group’s status during a press interview for his upcoming film Secret: Untold Melody on Wednesday.
The multi-hyphenate star reassured fans about EXO’s future following the group’s limited representation at SM Entertainment’s recent 30th-anniversary concert, where only members Suho and Chanyeol participated. When asked about the possibility of seeing all EXO members together again, Do responded confidently: “Yes. I want to tell you not to worry as we’re starting preparations. We’re getting ready.”
While ruling out a 2025 reunion, Do emphasized it would happen in “the nearest future.” He explained, “We need to calculate everyone’s individual schedules,” adding that “preparations will likely begin this year.”
The star quickly affirmed the group’s solid standing with an emphatic “Of course!” when questioned about EXO’s current status. Addressing concerns about coordinating activities across different agencies, Do stated, “While we’re under different agencies, the process will be the same. Everything related to EXO is always handled through SM.”
Do also discussed his recent winter season release, sharing, “This was my first time working this way with a composer. Unlike before, where I received 100% completed songs, this time I participated in creating the melody and discussing the instruments. It was a completely new experience,” he continued. “Though I’ve been a singer for so long, this felt like my first time doing real, serious music. I think I’ll continue working this way moving forward.”
Secret: Untold Melody, directed by Seo You Min, is a fantasy romance remake of the 2008 Taiwanese film Secret. The story follows Yu Jun and Jung Ah, whose paths cross in a mysterious campus practice room with time-bending secrets. The film hits theaters on January 27th.
