Junho recently received a tax audit, but his agency clarified that it was not related to any allegations of tax evasion.
JYP Entertainment released a statement on December 26th saying, “Junho fully cooperated with a tax audit conducted by the Seoul Regional Tax Office’s Investigation Division 2 in September 2023. We can share that the audit was part of a routine, non-regular corporate tax review for artists and was not initiated due to suspicions of tax evasion.”
The agency added, “Junho has always filed his taxes diligently under the guidance of his tax advisor. However, he paid additional taxes later due to a difference in interpretation between the tax authorities and his advisor.”
JYP Entertainment further explained, “This was Junho’s first non-regular tax audit in his 17-year career. He complied with all legal procedures and promptly paid any additional taxes resulting from differing opinions throughout the process. Claims of intentional tax evasion are completely false.”
The statement concluded, “Junho has consistently fulfilled his tax obligations with integrity since his debut. We want to assure everyone that there have been no issues or misconduct regarding his taxes.”
