The situation began on March 21st, when Kim Dong Wan shared a message on social media that read, “Anyone want to support Dingdong for no reason?” while tagging MC Dingdong. The post quickly drew criticism given MC Dingdong’s recent controversy, and Kim Dong Wan later deleted it and issued an apology.
MC Dingdong had recently come under fire after footage from a livestream showed him assaulting a female host in a sudden outburst. He later apologized, saying emotions had escalated in the moment, but also claimed that parts of the situation were misrepresented and announced plans to take legal action.
Amid the backlash, a lengthy post from an individual claiming to be Kim Dong Wan’s former manager began circulating online, further fueling the situation.
The writer said they had worked with the singer for many years and shared alleged past incidents, including claims that Kim Dong Wan once went live while drinking and had conflicts with fans. The post also alleged that repeated advice was ignored.
