YouTuber Freezia is going viral after joking that she wouldn’t want a boyfriend who uses a Samsung phone.
In a recent vlog uploaded to her YouTube channel “THE Freezia,” the influencer chatted with a friend about smartphones and admitted she has a strong preference.
“My friend said her boyfriend uses a Samsung Flip phone,” Freezia said. “Honestly, if my boyfriend used a Samsung, I think I’d kind of hate it.” She added, “My mom and dad both use Samsung phones. But parents and boyfriends are different, right? Just imagining him taking photos of me with that phone annoys me so much.”
When her friend joked about a boyfriend saying, “Zia, I’ll take a photo for you,” and flipping open a Samsung folder phone, Freezia immediately cringed. “The photo quality between Samsung and iPhone just looks different,” she said.
Her friend pushed back, saying photos taken by her dad turn out great.
Freezia then admitted she has little experience with the device. “I honestly don’t remember ever touching a Samsung phone,” she said. “The only people I allow to use one around me are my mom and dad.”
She did note that Samsung’s Flip phone once caught her attention. “When the Flip first came out, it looked really pretty and reminded me of old folder phones,” she said. “But iPhones are still much easier for me to use.”
Freezia, whose real name is Song Zia, rose to fame after appearing on the 2021 Netflix dating show Single’s Inferno, which helped launch her career as a beauty and fashion influencer.
At the height of her popularity, she faced controversy over allegations that she wore counterfeit luxury items. She later issued a handwritten apology and addressed the issue in a YouTube video. A media outlet later examined 21 items tied to the controversy and reported that 13 were authentic, while some were confirmed to be counterfeit.
