Park Ji Hyun is set to headline upcoming drama Love Cloud (literal title), where she will star opposite Song Joong Ki, sources confirm.
According to industry insiders on January 5th, Park has been cast as Ahn Ha Nui, a hardworking airline first officer who knows only how to push forward—until she falls for a man she meets at first sight.
Love Cloud is a romantic comedy with a human drama touch, centered on a former flight instructor and a onetime trainee pilot who reunite seven years later as an air traffic controller and a pilot. Their paths cross again on Jeju Island where love becomes weather.
The project marks Park’s first drama choice since a breakout year that included Netflix hit You and Everything Else and the film Hidden Face, which earned her the Best Supporting Actress trophy at the Blue Dragon Film Awards. With multiple scripts reportedly flooding in, Park ultimately chose Love Cloud.
The drama also reunites Park and Song four years after their appearance together in JTBC’s Reborn Rich. At the time, Park joked in an interview, “I couldn’t tell if my mom was watching the drama because of me or because of Song Joong Ki. She wanted his autograph, but I felt like asking on set would be disruptive.”
Love Cloud will be directed by Song Min Yeop, known for Doctor Prisoner and Youth of May, with the script penned by Team Mad Rabbit. The network has yet to be announced, and the series is slated to air in the second half of the year.
